What are these Trips Like?
Join us for one of our exciting, inspirational, celebratory yoga backpacking adventures to Yosemite National Park! Experience yoga the way it was first practiced nearly 5,000 years ago. Stand in mountain pose amidst granite peaks reaching miles into the sky. Balance in tree pose in front of an 800 year old pine tree, firmly rooted into the ground.
These journeys are memorable experiences you will carry with you for the rest of your life. From laughter that will stretch your smile from ear to ear to deep spiritual moments, these adventures cover it all. These trips are limited to 11 participants each, so sign up soon before they sell out!

Yosemite Yoga with Samantha Matthews

Samantha Shakti Matthews is a dedicated student of Anusara Yoga. Her interdisciplinary approach began when she was 12 years old. Her evolution of training includes masters from the Bihar School, Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Anusara. Her classes are also deeply influenced by a lifetime dedication to healing through bodywork and energy medicine. Pure Adventure
Backpacking for Breast Cancer Prevention
July 23-27, 2008
(Wednesday evening to Sunday Eve ning)
This year we are excited to team upwith the Breast Cancer Fund to bring you these exciting journeys! Newto the Breast Cancer Fund's menu of fundraising opportunities, Pure Adventure offers two, four-day trips with varying levels of difficulty in the spectacular high country of Yosemite National Park. Trips vary in length from 5-7 miles per day (Level 1) and 7-10 miles per day (Level 2).
As part of the journey, participants are expected to fundraise a minimum of $2,500 for the Breast Cancer Fund's programmatic work for prevention of the disease.
You will spend four days and three nights exploring the high country of Yosemite National Park, journeying through wildflower covered alpine meadows among the granite peaks of the Cathedral Range, reaching 12,000 feet into the sky. Each night will be spent by a high mountain lake under star covered skies. Expert mountain guides will lead you through this remarkable wilderness and a yoga instructor will help you to stretch your body and open your soul at the beginning and end of each day.

Mia Matthews from The Mindful Body studio in San Francisco, and trained in Ashtanga and Iyengar lineages will bring alignment and flow to the Level 1 trip.
Katchie Ananda, owner of the Yoga Sangha in San Francisco and certified Anusara yoga teacher, will offer her expertise on the Level 2 trip.
100% of the donations raised will support the Breast Cancer Fund's mission to identify and to advocate for the elimination of the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease. Sign up and start fundraising today!
