community outreach coordinator

We are seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team for a year of service focused on expanding access, strengthening community relationships, and helping more young people find their way into our programs.

tHe opportUnitY

This role sits at the intersection of community building, education, and youth development.

You will help create and strengthen partnerships with schools, counselors, youth-serving organizations, and community leaders. You’ll support scholarship and fundraising efforts that remove financial barriers to participation. You’ll help build systems that allow volunteers, alumni, families, and community partners to stay engaged in meaningful ways.

Most importantly, your work will help ensure that more young people have access to experiences that foster connection, purpose, confidence, and growth.

Highlights of the Role

  • Build relationships with schools and community organizations that serve youth and families

  • Help expand scholarship opportunities for young people who face financial barriers

  • Support fundraising, donor outreach, and grant research efforts

  • Create outreach materials and partnership resources that tell the story of our work

  • Develop systems for volunteer engagement and alumni leadership

  • Track participation and impact to help strengthen our programs and expand our reach

Who This Role Is For

This position may be a good fit for someone who is passionate about youth development, education, community engagement, outdoor learning, or nonprofit work.

You do not need to have all the answers. Curiosity, initiative, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people are often more important than prior experience.

Service Details

  • Full-time AmeriCorps VISTA position

  • July 2026 – July 2027 service term

  • Based in Nevada City, California

  • Open to applicants 18 years and older

AmeriCorps benefits include a living allowance, healthcare benefits, an education award or end-of-service stipend, training, and additional support for eligible members.
